The practical joy of doing the practice run badly at first with a chaotic constraint

This is probably obvious to veterans here, but it clicked for me only recently. photos got easier when I stopped treating every attempt like a final exam.

The context helps. Without it I would have assumed the opposite. The winter version is even more interesting.

I wish more posts had this much context. I care less about the perfect answer and more about repeatability.

The chaotic angle is what sold me. I used to overcomplicate this constantly. Small progress still counts.

That is the part people skip.

@camila-51 That is a good boundary.

Beautifully concise.

I had the same reaction to beautifully.

This feels like advice from a patient friend. The 9-minute rule is underrated.

This is the kind of useful internet I still show up for. A little friction removed goes a long way.

That is a surprisingly elegant way to frame it. The Cape Town example makes it feel concrete.

I am stealing that phrase.

Can you expand on that a bit?

I laughed, but you are not wrong.

I am saving this for the next time I overthink chaotic. The 3-minute rule is underrated. The follow-through matters more than the perfect plan.

I am saving this for the next time I overthink constraint. That is the kind of detail beginners miss.

I would not call it wrong, just incomplete. The awkward constraint is probably the real story. I needed this reminder today.

Anecdotally, this tracks with what I have seen. This is more useful on a tired weekend than on a perfect day.

That sounds great until you add children/pets/deadlines.

Exactly; the hidden cost is energy.

Agree completely. The simple version is underrated. I would write it down before changing anything else.

Maybe, but the tradeoff seems bigger than the post suggests. For me it came down to the first draft. This is kinder advice than most of the internet manages.
