Why does physics feel easy for everyone except me when life is busy?

This is probably obvious to veterans here, but it clicked for me only recently. chemistry got easier when I stopped treating every attempt like a final exam.

Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the first draft for a while.

A useful way to think about it is mechanism first: what changes, what stays constant, and what evidence would distinguish the two. You will learn more from a simple version repeated three times than from a perfect plan you never start.

- Start small and make the next step obvious.
- Keep notes so you can compare what worked.
- Ask someone with recent experience, not just strong opinions.

Source: mostly hard-won experience and comparing notes with people who stuck with it.

I was going to disagree, but your second sentence got me.

@de_otter I am curious what changed your mind.

Not wrong, but I think this underestimates how different people's constraints are. The surprising part is easy to underestimate.
