My 10-month experiment with maps from the corner shop

Context: I am not an expert, just someone trying to make History feel less intimidating. I wrote down what worked, what felt awkward, and what I would do differently next time.

My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 9 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

That is a surprisingly elegant way to frame it. I would test it for 9 days before deciding. History gets easier to understand when you can place it on a street.
