The gentle joy of doing the conversation badly at first before coffee

Would love to hear how other people handle this. I am especially curious about the version that works on a tired weekday, not just on an ideal Sunday.

Context: I am not an expert, just someone trying to make Careers feel less intimidating. I wrote down what worked, what felt awkward, and what I would do differently next time.

The context helps. Without it I would have assumed the opposite. I care less about the perfect answer and more about repeatability.

Big fan of this approach. My friend tried it in Nairobi and had the opposite result.

That sounds great until you add children/pets/deadlines.

That is a much better way to say it.

I laughed, but you are not wrong.

I like the idea, but the setup probably matters a lot. The 7-minute rule is underrated.

Maybe, but the tradeoff seems bigger than the post suggests. It reminds me of a very specific conversation near a coworking table.

My version of this was messier, but the conclusion was similar. Honestly, the simplest version wins for me. Good managers make this conversation so much less weird.

This made me smile more than expected. I would test it for 4 days before deciding.
