The small tactics habit that changed my commute

Context: I am not an expert, just someone trying to make Football feel less intimidating. I wrote down what worked, what felt awkward, and what I would do differently next time.

My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 3 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

I had a disappointing first try, a surprisingly good second try, and then a third attempt that taught me humility. So, naturally, I now have opinions.

My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 9 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

Beautifully put. I needed that reminder today. This is more useful on a tired first week than on a perfect day. Tactics are half the fun when nobody is shouting.

Helpful and not preachy, which is rare.

@avery-20 I think both things can be true.

I would not call it wrong, just incomplete. That is where the boring checklist helps.

Interesting. I would like to see how it changes after 5 months. This would have saved me a lot of trial and error.

Anecdotally, this tracks with what I have seen. I care less about the perfect answer and more about repeatability.
