Today I Learned · by Léa Bernard · 2026-10-01

I finally understand why Today I Learned people care about culture without making it complicated

A few notes from my attempt:
- keep the first step visible
- remove one annoying decision
- celebrate the boring repeat

The detail that surprised me was how much the kitchen changed the outcome. Same plan, different setting, completely different energy.

My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 6 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

I wonder how much of this depends on timing. My friend tried it in Mumbai and had the opposite result.

Glad you shared it; small wins count.

I wonder how much of this depends on timing. It sounds small, but the first draft matters.

I do not have a strong take, but the care detail is useful. I needed this reminder today.

This made me smile more than expected. I keep a note about culture for exactly this reason.

Good reminder that boring can be good. I used to overcomplicate this constantly.

I would push back gently on the without part. A little friction removed goes a long way.

I would push back gently on the people part. My friend tried it in Seoul and had the opposite result.

What happened after the first week? I am curious whether culture stayed easy. That is the kind of detail beginners miss.
