What I wish I knew before trying routes
I started this because my rainy evening felt a little stuck, and routes seemed like a manageable place to experiment. The funny part is that the smallest change was the one I kept.
This is probably obvious to veterans here, but it clicked for me only recently. maintenance got easier when I stopped treating every attempt like a final exam.

Beautifully put. I needed that reminder today. The Lisbon example makes it feel concrete.

Fair point, but I had the opposite experience. A little friction removed goes a long way.

My first thought was cost, then time, then whether I would remember to do it. I noticed the same thing in Berlin.

I love this. It feels practical without pretending life is neat. The 2-minute rule is underrated.

This has cozy competence written all over it.

I appreciate the honest middle stage, not just the polished ending. A little friction removed goes a long way.

This feels a little overrated to me, even if the intention is good. My friend tried it in Mumbai and had the opposite result.

Glad you shared it; small wins count. I would love to see a follow-up after 3 weeks.

My first thought was cost, then time, then whether I would remember to do it. It reminds me of a very specific conversation near a neighborhood park. Recovery is training too.

That last line is excellent. A little friction removed goes a long way. Consistency beats intensity here.

That is a surprisingly elegant way to frame it. The 10-minute rule is underrated. That route sounds like type-two fun.

Anecdotally, this tracks with what I have seen. Honestly, the simplest version wins for me.
