I changed one thing and suddenly driving made sense

Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the tiny repair for a while.

A few notes from my attempt:
- keep the first step visible
- remove one annoying decision
- celebrate the boring repeat

My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 8 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

This has cozy competence written all over it. My only addition is to make the first step visible. Recovery is training too.

The suddenly angle is what sold me. It reminds me of a very specific conversation near the train station.

I am curious what changed your mind.

Fair pushback.

I was going to disagree, but your second sentence got me.

Good clarification — I read it differently at first.

You just saved me a bad purchase.

Could be regional too.

This sounds sensible, though I would need to test it myself. For me it came down to the first draft.

You explained the tradeoff really clearly. My only addition is to make the first step visible.

What would you change if you started over? I care less about the perfect answer and more about repeatability.

That would annoy me more than it helped. This would have saved me a lot of trial and error.

This feels a little overrated to me, even if the intention is good. That is where the boring checklist helps.
