My 7-month experiment with kids from a family dinner

I tried this in Kuala Lumpur with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan.

> Tiny progress is still progress.

That line sounds cheesy, but it got me through the part where family stopped feeling new.

My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 8 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

The context helps. Without it I would have assumed the opposite. The Kuala Lumpur example makes it feel concrete.

I appreciate the honest middle stage, not just the polished ending. I keep a note about kids for exactly this reason. I needed this reminder today.

I needed the reminder to start smaller.

Mildly negative take: the simple version is sometimes just underexplained. I learned that one the expensive way.

I was going to disagree, but your second sentence got me.

Kind of wild how often mildly is the whole issue.
