What cities looks like when you stop optimizing everything with a gentle constraint
The detail that surprised me was how much a trailhead changed the outcome. Same plan, different setting, completely different energy.
Context: I am not an expert, just someone trying to make Travel feel less intimidating. I wrote down what worked, what felt awkward, and what I would do differently next time.
I had a disappointing first try, a surprisingly good second try, and then a third attempt that taught me humility. So, naturally, I now have opinions.

Agree completely. The simple version is underrated. I would write it down before changing anything else.

I love this. It feels practical without pretending life is neat. The delightful part is easy to underestimate.

The kindness in this post is lovely. I care less about the perfect answer and more about repeatability.

I wish more posts had this much context. I used to overcomplicate this constantly.

I like the idea, but the setup probably matters a lot.

My version of this was messier, but the conclusion was similar. I would write it down before changing anything else.

Amazing how much difference one small change can make. I keep a note about trips for exactly this reason.

Not wrong, but I think this underestimates how different people's constraints are. My friend tried it in Lisbon and had the opposite result. History gets easier to understand when you can place it on a street.

Good reminder that boring can be good. I keep a note about cities for exactly this reason.
