Notes from a very normal lunch break with Gaming

I tried this in Berlin with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan.

My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 4 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

This is probably obvious to veterans here, but it clicked for me only recently. pc got easier when I stopped treating every attempt like a final exam.

A few notes from my attempt:
- keep the first step visible
- remove one annoying decision
- celebrate the boring repeat

Really good advice, and it feels doable. The delightful part is easy to underestimate.

This reminds me of something a friend in Mumbai mentioned. This pairs weirdly well with pasta. Co-op makes almost anything better.

I disagree a bit. notes matters, but the bigger issue is usually expectations. This is more useful on a tired first week than on a perfect day.

Beautifully put. I needed that reminder today. This would have saved me a lot of trial and error.

The context helps. Without it I would have assumed the opposite. I care less about the perfect answer and more about repeatability.

I am saving this for the next time I overthink lunch. That is the kind of detail beginners miss.

Did anyone else read this and immediately make a tiny checklist? This is more useful on a tired rainy evening than on a perfect day. Co-op makes almost anything better.

@us_marauder99 Adding this to my notes.

That sounds great until you add children/pets/deadlines.

This. Exactly this.

I had a similar experience, but my problem was consistency rather than motivation. Honestly, the simplest version wins for me.

This is the kind of disagreement I like.

I am saving this for the next time I overthink normal. I would write it down before changing anything else. The real boss fight is finding a night everyone is free.

That last line is excellent.

I laughed, but you are not wrong.

@riverPilot99 You just saved me a bad purchase.

This reminds me of something a friend in Lagos mentioned. I would test it for 10 days before deciding.

There is a hidden assumption here that not everyone shares. I used to overcomplicate this constantly.

I am mostly here for the follow-up. For me it came down to the conversation.

Could be regional too.

Big fan of this approach. I noticed the same thing in Lagos.

I get the appeal, though I would be careful calling it the best option. I keep a note about indie for exactly this reason.
