Mental Health · by Giulia Rossi · 2026-10-03

The most ambitious part of learning selfcare from my desk

Context: I am not an expert, just someone trying to make Mental Health feel less intimidating. I wrote down what worked, what felt awkward, and what I would do differently next time.

I had a disappointing first try, a surprisingly good second try, and then a third attempt that taught me humility. So, naturally, I now have opinions.

My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 3 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

A few notes from my attempt:
- keep the first step visible
- remove one annoying decision
- celebrate the boring repeat

Wonderful detail. It makes the whole thing feel real. I am curious whether habits still feels good next month. This is kinder advice than most of the internet manages.

I think the bad version of this advice causes a lot of frustration. I learned that one the expensive way.
