Explain Like I'm Five · by Arif Hasan · 2026-10-03

Notes from a very normal commute with Explain Like I'm Five from my late summer notes

> Tiny progress is still progress.

That line sounds cheesy, but it got me through the part where simple stopped feeling new.

I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 10 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.

Glad you shared it; small wins count. The follow-through matters more than the perfect plan.

This is the kind of disagreement I like.

That last line is excellent. I learned that one the expensive way. This is kinder advice than most of the internet manages.

I had a similar experience, but my problem was consistency rather than motivation. Honestly, the simplest version wins for me.

Great point, especially the part about five. The social part surprised me too.
