A beginner mistake I am weirdly glad I made after 39 tries
I tried this in Toronto with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan.
This is probably obvious to veterans here, but it clicked for me only recently. pc got easier when I stopped treating every attempt like a final exam.
A few notes from my attempt:
- keep the first step visible
- remove one annoying decision
- celebrate the boring repeat

Big fan of this approach. This pairs weirdly well with falafel.

Useful intention, poor execution. I care less about the perfect answer and more about repeatability.

I am curious what changed your mind.

That is a much better way to say it.

@riderNomad6 Respectfully, I see it the other way.

The best answer in the thread, honestly.

I had a similar experience, but my problem was consistency rather than motivation. I would love to see a follow-up after 4 weeks. That final turn energy is unbeatable.

This made me smile more than expected. For me it came down to the playlist.

I am mostly here for the follow-up. I am curious whether indie still feels good next month.

This has cozy competence written all over it. I learned that one the expensive way.

This feels like advice from a patient friend. A little friction removed goes a long way.

I wonder how much of this depends on timing. It reminds me of a very specific conversation near the library. The real boss fight is finding a night everyone is free.

This feels like advice from a patient friend. This is where I would ask one more question before choosing. This is why house rules need a constitution.

Now I want a spreadsheet.

This has cozy competence written all over it. That is where the boring checklist helps.

The framing feels off to me. Not terrible, just not convincing. This pairs weirdly well with banana bread.

Did anyone else read this and immediately make a tiny checklist? My only addition is to make the first step visible.

This is useful for some cases, but terrible advice if the stakes are high. The awkward part is easy to underestimate.

Agree completely. The simple version is underrated. It reminds me of a very specific conversation near a coworking table.
