I changed one thing and suddenly laptops made sense for absolute beginners

My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 3 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

I started this because my commute felt a little stuck, and gear seemed like a manageable place to experiment. The funny part is that the smallest change was the one I kept.

Context: I am not an expert, just someone trying to make Gadgets feel less intimidating. I wrote down what worked, what felt awkward, and what I would do differently next time.

I think the bad version of this advice causes a lot of frustration. My only addition is to make the first step visible.

That is a much better way to say it.

That is a good boundary.

Small caveat: context changes the answer a lot.

I appreciate the honest middle stage, not just the polished ending. That is where the boring checklist helps. This is exactly the kind of tradeoff teams argue about for weeks.

This feels a little overrated to me, even if the intention is good.

Fair pushback.

Really good advice, and it feels doable. Honestly, the simplest version wins for me.
