I tried doing joinery the boring way and it worked

I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 5 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.

This sounds sensible, though I would need to test it myself. That is where the boring checklist helps.

I like the idea, but the setup probably matters a lot. I would write it down before changing anything else.
