What I wish I knew before trying chemistry that actually stuck

I started this because my weekend felt a little stuck, and physics seemed like a manageable place to experiment. The funny part is that the smallest change was the one I kept.

I had a similar experience, but my problem was consistency rather than motivation. My only addition is to make the first step visible. This would be a great classroom example.
