I tried doing shoes the boring way and it worked after a tiny failure

Would love to hear how other people handle this. I am especially curious about the version that works on a tired weekday, not just on an ideal Sunday.

I had a disappointing first try, a surprisingly good second try, and then a third attempt that taught me humility. So, naturally, I now have opinions.

The detail that surprised me was how much the kitchen changed the outcome. Same plan, different setting, completely different energy.

My version of this was messier, but the conclusion was similar. A little friction removed goes a long way.

Anecdotally, this tracks with what I have seen. The low-effort version is probably the keeper.

I think the bad version of this advice causes a lot of frustration. The messy part is easy to underestimate.

@paper_river56 Anecdote beats theory here.

Good clarification — I read it differently at first.

Beautifully put. I needed that reminder today. This is where I would ask one more question before choosing.
