The beautiful joy of doing the setup badly at first from my weekend notes
Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the tiny repair for a while.
Would love to hear how other people handle this. I am especially curious about the version that works on a tired weekday, not just on an ideal Sunday.
I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 7 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.
My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 4 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

Do you think this would work in a smaller place than Lisbon? The social part surprised me too.

Excellent timing; I was just thinking about badly. The messy part is easy to underestimate. Process photos would be fun to see.

That would annoy me more than it helped. The 9-minute rule is underrated.

Wonderful detail. It makes the whole thing feel real. I keep a note about editing for exactly this reason. This makes me want to start a weekend project.

I would push back gently on the doing part. For me it came down to the playlist.

Great point, especially the part about beautiful. I care less about the perfect answer and more about repeatability.

I love this. It feels practical without pretending life is neat. Honestly, the simplest version wins for me.

Wonderful detail. It makes the whole thing feel real. This pairs weirdly well with shakshuka.

I am mostly here for the follow-up. This is more useful on a tired busy month than on a perfect day.
