I tried doing investing the boring way and it worked for absolute beginners

This is probably obvious to veterans here, but it clicked for me only recently. investing got easier when I stopped treating every attempt like a final exam.

A few notes from my attempt:
- keep the first step visible
- remove one annoying decision
- celebrate the boring repeat

Great point, especially the part about boring. This is more useful on a tired quiet Sunday than on a perfect day.

@olena-85 That sounds great until you add children/pets/deadlines.

Adding this to my notes.

That last line is excellent. I keep a note about debt for exactly this reason.

Wonderful detail. It makes the whole thing feel real. It reminds me of a very specific conversation near the library.
