I tried doing ecology the boring way and it worked

> Tiny progress is still progress.

That line sounds cheesy, but it got me through the part where ecology stopped feeling new.

The detail that surprised me was how much a family dinner changed the outcome. Same plan, different setting, completely different energy.

This is probably obvious to veterans here, but it clicked for me only recently. photos got easier when I stopped treating every attempt like a final exam.

This made me smile more than expected. I keep a note about photos for exactly this reason. The uncertainty is part of what makes it interesting.

Really good advice, and it feels doable. That is the kind of detail beginners miss.

Glad you shared it; small wins count. The a family dinner detail changes the whole answer.

I think the bad version of this advice causes a lot of frustration. Now I want to read the paper behind it.

What happened after the first week? I am curious whether tried stayed easy. The gentle constraint is probably the real story. The uncertainty is part of what makes it interesting.
