I finally understand why Gadgets people care about gear for absolute beginners

My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 4 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

This is probably obvious to veterans here, but it clicked for me only recently. gear got easier when I stopped treating every attempt like a final exam.

The detail that surprised me was how much the corner shop changed the outcome. Same plan, different setting, completely different energy.

My first thought was cost, then time, then whether I would remember to do it. My only addition is to make the first step visible.

The boring logistics are always the hidden part. The 10-minute rule is underrated.

This is adorable and oddly motivating. The 4-minute rule is underrated.
