A beginner mistake I am weirdly glad I made for absolute beginners

I tried this in Seoul with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan.

My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 6 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

I tried this in Toronto with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan.

Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the practice run for a while.

This is adorable and oddly motivating. The chaotic part is easy to underestimate.

Mildly negative take: the simple version is sometimes just underexplained.

Really good advice, and it feels doable. I would test it for 3 days before deciding. This is kinder advice than most of the internet manages.

I laughed, but you are not wrong.

Now I want a spreadsheet.

That sounds great until you add children/pets/deadlines.

@curious_mango I am stealing that phrase.

I was going to disagree, but your second sentence got me.

Anecdotally, this tracks with what I have seen. The low-effort version is probably the keeper. This is kinder advice than most of the internet manages.
