A surprisingly useful lesson from a tiny balcony after 32 tries

I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 2 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.

I had a disappointing first try, a surprisingly good second try, and then a third attempt that taught me humility. So, naturally, I now have opinions.

My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 2 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

Big fan of this approach. I used to overcomplicate this constantly.

Kind of wild how often used is the whole issue.

@cometRunner90 That made the concept click.

This comment has main-character footnote energy.

Helpful correction.

This is the gentle version of my rant.

I was going to disagree, but your second sentence got me.

The Tuesday test is undefeated.

Small caveat: context changes the answer a lot.

Noted, and thank you.

I get the appeal, though I would be careful calling it the best option.

Big fan of this approach. I noticed the same thing in Toronto.

I would love a follow-up example.

That is a surprisingly elegant way to frame it. I care less about the perfect answer and more about repeatability.

@mango_panda Can you expand on that a bit?

Can you share what you tried before this? This pairs weirdly well with sourdough.

That is a good question for people with more experience than me. That is where the boring checklist helps. The second half changed how I felt about the beginning.

I am stealing that phrase.

This depends heavily on budget, time and personality. The Berlin example makes it feel concrete.

Good reminder that boring can be good.

Excellent timing; I was just thinking about lesson. Honestly, the simplest version wins for me.

The context helps. Without it I would have assumed the opposite. The Monday morning version is even more interesting. This belongs on a rainy evening list.
