What I wish I knew before trying routes without making it complicated

My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 3 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

Context: I am not an expert, just someone trying to make Cycling feel less intimidating. I wrote down what worked, what felt awkward, and what I would do differently next time.

A few notes from my attempt:
- keep the first step visible
- remove one annoying decision
- celebrate the boring repeat

I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 7 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.

I found this disappointing because it skips the hardest part. The busy month version is even more interesting.

@kabir-99 I would pin this if I could.

This is the gentle version of my rant.

Yep, the boring details matter.

That is a surprisingly elegant way to frame it.

The kindness in this post is lovely. I would love to see a follow-up after 3 weeks. A tailwind can fix an entire personality for ten minutes.
