What editing looks like when you stop optimizing everything for absolute beginners

Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the recipe for a while.

I started this because my lunch break felt a little stuck, and fiction seemed like a manageable place to experiment. The funny part is that the smallest change was the one I kept.

Would love to hear how other people handle this. I am especially curious about the version that works on a tired weekday, not just on an ideal Sunday.

I tried this in Madrid with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan.

Fair point, but I had the opposite experience.

I think the bad version of this advice causes a lot of frustration. The social part surprised me too.

That is a good question for people with more experience than me. I would write it down before changing anything else.

Excellent timing; I was just thinking about absolute. This is more useful on a tired late summer than on a perfect day.
