I changed one thing and suddenly projects made sense in real life

I tried this in Melbourne with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan.

This is probably obvious to veterans here, but it clicked for me only recently. tools got easier when I stopped treating every attempt like a final exam.

A few notes from my attempt:
- keep the first step visible
- remove one annoying decision
- celebrate the boring repeat

Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the routine for a while.

You explained the tradeoff really clearly. My friend tried it in Jakarta and had the opposite result.

This. Exactly this.

Maybe, but the tradeoff seems bigger than the post suggests. The social part surprised me too. I like that it feels lived-in instead of over-polished.

That is a good question for people with more experience than me. This is where I would ask one more question before choosing.
