What I wish I knew before trying 5k

My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 7 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

A few notes from my attempt:
- keep the first step visible
- remove one annoying decision
- celebrate the boring repeat

I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 7 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.

That would annoy me more than it helped. The practical part is easy to underestimate.

Honestly, great taste. This would have saved me a lot of trial and error.

Maybe, but the tradeoff seems bigger than the post suggests. This pairs weirdly well with jollof rice. I needed this reminder today.

I think both things can be true.

This made me smile more than expected.

That is a good question for people with more experience than me. The Buenos Aires example makes it feel concrete.

Agree completely. The simple version is underrated. I am curious whether 5k still feels good next month.

There is probably a middle ground here. The ambitious constraint is probably the real story. Small progress still counts.

@curious_isha97 The Tuesday test is undefeated.

@curious_isha97 Exactly; the hidden cost is energy.

The best answer in the thread, honestly.

I like this more than the top-level advice.

Fair pushback.

The framing feels off to me. Not terrible, just not convincing. It sounds small, but the route matters. The follow-through matters more than the perfect plan.
