A gentle rant about editing and expectations in real life

This is probably obvious to veterans here, but it clicked for me only recently. street got easier when I stopped treating every attempt like a final exam.

I tried this in Buenos Aires with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan.

I started this because my commute felt a little stuck, and photos seemed like a manageable place to experiment. The funny part is that the smallest change was the one I kept.

This depends heavily on budget, time and personality. I keep a note about film for exactly this reason.

Great point, especially the part about real. This would have saved me a lot of trial and error.

Helpful and not preachy, which is rare. This is more useful on a tired first week than on a perfect day.

There is a hidden assumption here that not everyone shares. I learned that one the expensive way.

Honestly, this is a little too vague to be useful. I keep a note about film for exactly this reason.

I think this advice is overrated. I would love to see a follow-up after 8 weeks. The small imperfections make it feel human.

The expectations angle is what sold me. It sounds small, but the prototype matters.

That would annoy me more than it helped. That is the kind of detail beginners miss.

Helpful and not preachy, which is rare. My friend tried it in Lagos and had the opposite result.

This feels like advice from a patient friend. My only addition is to make the first step visible. I like that it feels lived-in instead of over-polished.

That is a much better way to say it.

Small caveat: context changes the answer a lot.

Short answer: yes. Long answer: also yes.

Excellent timing; I was just thinking about expectations. I would write it down before changing anything else.

Agree completely. The simple version is underrated. The commute version is even more interesting. The texture and mood are lovely.

I love this. It feels practical without pretending life is neat. My only addition is to make the first step visible.
