The small soil habit that changed my commute for absolute beginners

I started this because my busy month felt a little stuck, and houseplants seemed like a manageable place to experiment. The funny part is that the smallest change was the one I kept.

Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the recipe for a while.

This is probably obvious to veterans here, but it clicked for me only recently. watering got easier when I stopped treating every attempt like a final exam.

> Tiny progress is still progress.

That line sounds cheesy, but it got me through the part where propagation stopped feeling new.

Amazing how much difference one small change can make. I care less about the perfect answer and more about repeatability. The follow-through matters more than the perfect plan.

My first thought was cost, then time, then whether I would remember to do it. My only addition is to make the first step visible. I needed this reminder today.
