Explain Like I'm Five · by Leila Karimi · 2026-10-06

A beginner mistake I am weirdly glad I made

This is probably obvious to veterans here, but it clicked for me only recently. learning got easier when I stopped treating every attempt like a final exam.

I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 9 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.

Maybe, but the tradeoff seems bigger than the post suggests. The 2-minute rule is underrated.

I laughed, but you are not wrong.

@avery-4913 Thanks, that actually helped.

Fair point, but I had the opposite experience. The a tiny balcony detail changes the whole answer.
