AI Lab · by Nicolás Díaz · 2026-08-31

A gentle rant about machinelearning and expectations that actually stuck

I tried this in Seoul with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan.

Context: I am not an expert, just someone trying to make AI Lab feel less intimidating. I wrote down what worked, what felt awkward, and what I would do differently next time.

I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 8 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.

> Tiny progress is still progress.

That line sounds cheesy, but it got me through the part where ethics stopped feeling new.

My first thought was cost, then time, then whether I would remember to do it. A little friction removed goes a long way. A small test case would make this easier to trust.

Do you think this would work in a smaller place than Madrid? The low-effort version is probably the keeper.

Good clarification — I read it differently at first.

Helpful and not preachy, which is rare. I would write it down before changing anything else.

This depends heavily on budget, time and personality. This is more useful on a tired commute than on a perfect day.

This is the kind of useful internet I still show up for. This would have saved me a lot of trial and error.

Anecdote beats theory here.
