Notes from a very normal winter with Baking in real life

Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the tiny repair for a while.

> Tiny progress is still progress.

That line sounds cheesy, but it got me through the part where pastry stopped feeling new.

Context: I am not an expert, just someone trying to make Baking feel less intimidating. I wrote down what worked, what felt awkward, and what I would do differently next time.

Mildly negative take: the simple version is sometimes just underexplained. I would love to see a follow-up after 10 weeks.

That sounds great until you add children/pets/deadlines.

This made me smile more than expected. I would write it down before changing anything else. A squeeze of lemon would probably wake it up.

Exactly; the hidden cost is energy.

Beautifully concise.

Anecdote beats theory here.

This sounds sensible, though I would need to test it myself. This pairs weirdly well with banana bread.
