A gentle rant about maintenance and expectations for absolute beginners

The detail that surprised me was how much a neighborhood park changed the outcome. Same plan, different setting, completely different energy.

I had a disappointing first try, a surprisingly good second try, and then a third attempt that taught me humility. So, naturally, I now have opinions.

I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 2 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.

Maybe, but the tradeoff seems bigger than the post suggests.

That is the part people skip.

I think the bad version of this advice causes a lot of frustration. This pairs weirdly well with shakshuka.

There is probably a middle ground here. For me it came down to the playlist.

Exactly; the hidden cost is energy.

Can you expand on that a bit?

Love the tiny experiment energy. I would write it down before changing anything else.

I am cheering for this update. This would have saved me a lot of trial and error.

This made me smile more than expected. My only addition is to make the first step visible.

My version of this was messier, but the conclusion was similar. I keep a note about maintenance for exactly this reason.
