The useful joy of doing the route badly at first after a tiny failure

I started this because my quiet Sunday felt a little stuck, and nostalgia seemed like a manageable place to experiment. The funny part is that the smallest change was the one I kept.

I tried this in Nairobi with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan.

Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the first draft for a while.

My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 5 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

I am mostly here for the follow-up. This pairs weirdly well with banana bread.

Thanks for making it less intimidating.

That last line is excellent. A little friction removed goes a long way. I can already hear the menu music.

Helpful and not preachy, which is rare. I noticed the same thing in São Paulo. I can already hear the menu music.
