What is a realistic first 9-week plan for research on a budget?

I started this because my first week felt a little stuck, and physics seemed like a manageable place to experiment. The funny part is that the smallest change was the one I kept.

Context: I am not an expert, just someone trying to make Science feel less intimidating. I wrote down what worked, what felt awkward, and what I would do differently next time.

A useful way to think about it is mechanism first: what changes, what stays constant, and what evidence would distinguish the two. The trap is trying to optimize before you have feedback.

- Start small and make the next step obvious.
- Keep notes so you can compare what worked.
- Ask someone with recent experience, not just strong opinions.

Come back with what happened; the details will make the next answer better.

@brave_river57 That is the part people skip.

The best answer in the thread, honestly.
