My favorite low-effort upgrade for family after a tiny failure

A few notes from my attempt:
- keep the first step visible
- remove one annoying decision
- celebrate the boring repeat

I tried this in Dublin with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan.

A few notes from my attempt:

- celebrate the boring repeat

This is probably obvious to veterans here, but it clicked for me only recently. kindness got easier when I stopped treating every attempt like a final exam.

I would not call it wrong, just incomplete. The 9-minute rule is underrated.

@rapidcodes Exactly; the hidden cost is energy.

The best answer in the thread, honestly.

That is the part people skip.

That is fair, but I still worry about maintenance.

Same here. It took me too long to learn.

@rapidcodes Small caveat: context changes the answer a lot.

The context helps. Without it I would have assumed the opposite. I would test it for 4 days before deciding.

Did anyone else read this and immediately make a tiny checklist? The the corner shop detail changes the whole answer.

Fair pushback.

I agree with the goal and disagree with the method. Honestly, the simplest version wins for me.

Maybe, but the tradeoff seems bigger than the post suggests. That is where the boring checklist helps.

The upgrade angle is what sold me. It sounds small, but the conversation matters.

Do you think this would work in a smaller place than Seoul? I would test it for 10 days before deciding.

Do you think this would work in a smaller place than Madrid? My friend tried it in Dublin and had the opposite result.

This is the kind of useful internet I still show up for. This pairs weirdly well with sourdough. I needed this reminder today.
