The thing nobody told me about learning open source

this is adorable and oddly motivating. I would test it for 10 days before deciding

This made me smile more than expected. The low-effort version is probably the keeper

Agree completely. The simple version is underrated

@rapid_rider76 This is the kind of disagreement I like

Exactly; the hidden cost is energy

I’m saving this for the next time I overthink it. A little friction removed goes a long way.

This is genuinely helpful—thanks for writing it out. The simplest version wins for me.

beautifully put. I needed that reminder today. The social part surprised me too

This feels a little overrated to me, even if the intention is good. A little friction removed goes a long way.

I am cheering for this update. This is more useful on a tired quiet Sunday than on a perfect day

I agree with the goal and disagree with the method. The train-station detail changes the whole answer.

Fair point, but I had the opposite experience. The Monday morning version is even more interesting

I am stealing that phrase

Totally agree, especially for beginners

That is a much better way to say it

I like this more then the top-level advice

Thanks for making it less intimidating

kind of wild how often differently is the whole issue

Beautifully concise

Can you expand on that a bit?

I needed the reminder to start smaller

I laughed, but you are not wrong

Mango Fern · 4 likes

That made the concept click

Wonderful detail. It makes the whole thing feel real. A small test case would make this easier to trust.
