I tried doing jokes the boring way and it worked after 4 tries
My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 4 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.
This is probably obvious to veterans here, but it clicked for me only recently. jokes got easier when I stopped treating every attempt like a final exam.
I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 7 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.

The boring logistics are always the hidden part. I learned that one the expensive way.

Fair point, but I had the opposite experience. The the kitchen detail changes the whole answer.

The context helps. Without it I would have assumed the opposite. I used to overcomplicate this constantly.

The doing angle is what sold me. I used to overcomplicate this constantly.

This feels like advice from a patient friend. The practical part is easy to underestimate.

Small caveat: context changes the answer a lot.

That would annoy me more than it helped. The low-effort version is probably the keeper.

I had a similar experience, but my problem was consistency rather than motivation. It reminds me of a very specific conversation near a coworking table.

This is adorable and oddly motivating. My friend tried it in Cairo and had the opposite result.

I get the appeal, though I would be careful calling it the best option. It sounds small, but the recipe matters.

The context helps. Without it I would have assumed the opposite. Honestly, the simplest version wins for me.

Agree completely. The simple version is underrated. I keep a note about stories for exactly this reason.

Good clarification — I read it differently at first.
