A tiny story about banana bread, Manila and timing in Lisbon
A few notes from my attempt:
- keep the first step visible
- remove one annoying decision
- celebrate the boring repeat
Would love to hear how other people handle this. I am especially curious about the version that works on a tired weekday, not just on an ideal Sunday.
My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 2 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

Really good advice, and it feels doable. The Cape Town example makes it feel concrete.

The boring logistics are always the hidden part. The texture and mood are lovely.

This is the kind of disagreement I like.

The context helps. Without it I would have assumed the opposite. This is where I would ask one more question before choosing.

Can you share what you tried before this? The the library detail changes the whole answer.

Good clarification — I read it differently at first.

I wish more posts had this much context. For me it came down to the first draft.

I am mostly here for the follow-up. That is where the boring checklist helps.

Did anyone else read this and immediately make a tiny checklist? I used to overcomplicate this constantly. This makes me want to start a weekend project.
