Is there a simple rule of thumb for workplace after a few failed attempts?

I tried this in Lagos with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan.

Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the playlist for a while.

Would love to hear how other people handle this. I am especially curious about the version that works on a tired weekday, not just on an ideal Sunday.

Glad you shared it; small wins count. The social part surprised me too.

That is fair, but I still worry about maintenance.

Helpful correction.

Run the numbers on a normal month and a bad month. If the plan only works in the normal month, it is probably too fragile. My only addition is to make the first step visible.

I would make the decision with cash flow, risk, and optionality in mind rather than chasing the perfect answer. The trap is trying to optimize before you have feedback.

- Start small and make the next step obvious.
- Keep notes so you can compare what worked.
- Ask someone with recent experience, not just strong opinions.

That should give you a solid first pass.
