A gentle rant about debt and expectations from my late summer notes

Would love to hear how other people handle this. I am especially curious about the version that works on a tired weekday, not just on an ideal Sunday.

My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 6 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

I started this because my Monday morning felt a little stuck, and budgeting seemed like a manageable place to experiment. The funny part is that the smallest change was the one I kept.

That is a surprisingly elegant way to frame it. I would write it down before changing anything else.

This is the kind of disagreement I like.

There is probably a middle ground here. My only addition is to make the first step visible. A boring plan you can keep beats an optimized plan you abandon.

I am mostly here for the follow-up. I noticed the same thing in Jakarta.

Beautifully put. I needed that reminder today. This would have saved me a lot of trial and error.

That would annoy me more than it helped.

I was going to disagree, but your second sentence got me.

Good clarification — I read it differently at first.

Thanks, that actually helped.

Interesting. I would like to see how it changes after 8 months. I would document the agreement in writing.

I am cheering for this update. A little friction removed goes a long way.
