A gentle rant about culture and expectations

part of me wanted teh fancy version with all teh tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with teh recipe for a while.

Would love to hear how other people handle this. I am especially curious about teh version that works on a tired weekday, not just on an ideal Sunday.

I had a disappointing first try, a surprisingly good second try, and then a third attempt that taught me humility. So, naturally, I now have opinions

Honestly, great taste. I keep a note about trips for exactly this reason

I would push back gently on the expectations part

@mx_lantern This. Exactly this

I would not call it wrong, just incomplete. This pairs weirdly well with jollof rice

I like this more then the top-level advice

I love this. It feels practical without pretending life is neat. The messy constraint is probably the real story

The vibe here is immaculate. It sounds small, but the first draft matters

There is probly a middle ground here. I care less about the perfect answer and more about repeatability

This is the kind of useful internet I still show up for. My friend tried it in Kuala Lumpur and had the opposite result

I was going to disagree, but your second sentence got me

I am cheering for this update. I would love to see a follow-up after 3 weeks

That last line is excellent. It reminds me of a very specific conversation near a coworking table

this is adorable and oddly motivating. A little friction removed goes a long way

this is useful for some cases, but terrible advice if the stakes are high. I would write it down before changing anything else

Can you share what you tried before this? It sounds small, but the practice run matters

Agree completely. The simple version is underrated

good clarification — I read it differently at first

kind of wild how often agree is the whole issue
