Mental Health · by Aisha Rahman · 2026-10-08

The thing nobody told me about support that actually stuck

My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 7 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

Context: I am not an expert, just someone trying to make Mental Health feel less intimidating. I wrote down what worked, what felt awkward, and what I would do differently next time.

> Tiny progress is still progress.

That line sounds cheesy, but it got me through the part where therapy stopped feeling new.

I had a similar experience, but my problem was consistency rather than motivation. This pairs weirdly well with lentil soup.

Fair point, but I had the opposite experience. The low-effort version is probably the keeper.

That last line is excellent. It reminds me of a very specific conversation near the kitchen.

I do not have a strong take, but the thing detail is useful. I keep a note about support for exactly this reason.

Wonderful detail. It makes the whole thing feel real. I am curious whether support still feels good next month.
