A beginner mistake I am weirdly glad I made in São Paulo
I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 6 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.
I tried this in Lagos with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan.
Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the routine for a while.

This has cozy competence written all over it.

Love the tiny experiment energy. The Berlin example makes it feel concrete.

I like the idea, but the setup probably matters a lot. The my desk detail changes the whole answer.

I do not have a strong take, but the glad detail is useful. The Jakarta example makes it feel concrete. Now I want to read the paper behind it.

I like the idea, but the setup probably matters a lot. I am curious whether astronomy still feels good next month.

Good clarification — I read it differently at first.

Short answer: yes. Long answer: also yes.

Interesting. I would like to see how it changes after 6 months.

Beautifully put. I needed that reminder today. My friend tried it in Nairobi and had the opposite result.

That would annoy me more than it helped. My friend tried it in Cairo and had the opposite result. Nature keeps being stranger than the simplified diagram.

I needed the reminder to start smaller.

Helpful and not preachy, which is rare. The Cairo example makes it feel concrete.

Good reminder that boring can be good. This is more useful on a tired commute than on a perfect day. Nature keeps being stranger than the simplified diagram.
