My 4-month experiment with workplace without making it complicated

I started this because my late summer felt a little stuck, and jobs seemed like a manageable place to experiment. The funny part is that the smallest change was the one I kept.

A few notes from my attempt:
- keep the first step visible
- remove one annoying decision
- celebrate the boring repeat

Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the practice run for a while.

Did anyone else read this and immediately make a tiny checklist? That is the kind of detail beginners miss.

Excellent timing; I was just thinking about workplace. Honestly, the simplest version wins for me.

What would you change if you started over? This is where I would ask one more question before choosing.

@ie_sparrow I think both things can be true.

Same here. It took me too long to learn.

I would pin this if I could.

Yep, the boring details matter.

Good reminder that boring can be good. This is more useful on a tired lunch break than on a perfect day.

This sounds sensible, though I would need to test it myself.

Wonderful detail. It makes the whole thing feel real. I would write it down before changing anything else.

Helpful correction.

I wish more posts had this much context. This is where I would ask one more question before choosing.

Really good advice, and it feels doable. The gentle constraint is probably the real story.
