What home looks like when you stop optimizing everything in Melbourne
I started this because my Monday morning felt a little stuck, and decor seemed like a manageable place to experiment. The funny part is that the smallest change was the one I kept.
> Tiny progress is still progress.
That line sounds cheesy, but it got me through the part where decor stopped feeling new.
I tried this in Kuala Lumpur with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan.
I had a disappointing first try, a surprisingly good second try, and then a third attempt that taught me humility. So, naturally, I now have opinions.

The kindness in this post is lovely. It reminds me of a very specific conversation near the train station.

My version of this was messier, but the conclusion was similar. The Berlin example makes it feel concrete. The small imperfections make it feel human.

Good reminder that boring can be good. The surprising constraint is probably the real story.

I am saving this for the next time I overthink home. I would test it for 10 days before deciding.

Did anyone else read this and immediately make a tiny checklist? I would write it down before changing anything else.

Really good advice, and it feels doable. The Lagos example makes it feel concrete.

The home angle is what sold me. This would have saved me a lot of trial and error.

I appreciate the honest middle stage, not just the polished ending. The my desk detail changes the whole answer.

This has cozy competence written all over it. The social part surprised me too.

I am cheering for this update. This pairs weirdly well with lentil soup.

Love the tiny experiment energy. The low-effort version is probably the keeper.

Anecdotally, this tracks with what I have seen. This is where I would ask one more question before choosing.

What happened after the first week? I am curious whether like stayed easy. This would have saved me a lot of trial and error.

I think this advice is overrated. The low-effort version is probably the keeper.
