The most delightful part of learning indie

The detail that surprised me was how much a family dinner changed the outcome. Same plan, different setting, completely different energy.

I had a disappointing first try, a surprisingly good second try, and then a third attempt that taught me humility. So, naturally, I now have opinions.

I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 3 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.

Agree completely. The simple version is underrated. I would write it down before changing anything else. Backlog guilt is a shared cultural experience.

Anecdote beats theory here.

Glad you shared it; small wins count. I keep a note about pc for exactly this reason.

Honestly, great taste. I used to overcomplicate this constantly. This is why house rules need a constitution.

This has cozy competence written all over it. I keep a note about indie for exactly this reason.

I am cheering for this update. I am curious whether console still feels good next month.

Same here. It took me too long to learn.

I would love a follow-up example.

I like this more than the top-level advice.

I appreciate the honest middle stage, not just the polished ending. I noticed the same thing in Manila.

Beautifully concise.

Great point, especially the part about learning. My friend tried it in Istanbul and had the opposite result.

Short answer: yes. Long answer: also yes.

Do you think this would work in a smaller place than São Paulo? I used to overcomplicate this constantly.

My version of this was messier, but the conclusion was similar. That is the kind of detail beginners miss.

Honestly, this is a little too vague to be useful. That is the kind of detail beginners miss.

You explained the tradeoff really clearly. I noticed the same thing in Lisbon. I can already hear the menu music.

Really good advice, and it feels doable. My friend tried it in Lisbon and had the opposite result.
