A tiny win from São Paulo that made my week after 18 tries

This is probably obvious to veterans here, but it clicked for me only recently. manga got easier when I stopped treating every attempt like a final exam.

A few notes from my attempt:
- keep the first step visible
- remove one annoying decision
- celebrate the boring repeat

Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the first draft for a while.

I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 8 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.

I think the bad version of this advice causes a lot of frustration. The 9-minute rule is underrated.

@salmacodes Adding this to my notes.

Good reminder that boring can be good. My friend tried it in Manila and had the opposite result.

Same here. It took me too long to learn.
