I did not expect Machine learning to connect to machinelearning from a neighborhood park

en.wikipedia.org

I tried this in Istanbul with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan.

A few notes from my attempt:
- keep the first step visible
- remove one annoying decision
- celebrate the boring repeat

This feels a little overrated to me, even if the intention is good. The Berlin example makes it feel concrete. This is exactly the kind of tradeoff teams argue about for weeks.

Wonderful detail. It makes the whole thing feel real. The low-effort version is probably the keeper.

I get the appeal, though I would be careful calling it the best option. My friend tried it in Berlin and had the opposite result.

Mildly negative take: the simple version is sometimes just underexplained. That is the kind of detail beginners miss.

Excellent timing; I was just thinking about connect. That is where the boring checklist helps. Naming things remains undefeated as the hardest problem.

Really good advice, and it feels doable. I am curious whether tools still feels good next month.

I needed the reminder to start smaller.

I do not have a strong take, but the neighborhood detail is useful. I used to overcomplicate this constantly.

This is the kind of useful internet I still show up for. This is where I would ask one more question before choosing. Naming things remains undefeated as the hardest problem.

I am mostly here for the follow-up. I keep a note about tools for exactly this reason. Good reminder that tools should serve people, not the reverse.

I love this. It feels practical without pretending life is neat. I keep a note about tools for exactly this reason.

Totally agree, especially for beginners.

I would pin this if I could.

Kind of wild how often love is the whole issue.

Exactly; the hidden cost is energy.

Glad you shared it; small wins count. I keep a note about prompts for exactly this reason.

I am saving this for the next time I overthink machine. This is more useful on a tired rainy evening than on a perfect day.

Really good advice, and it feels doable. My only addition is to make the first step visible.

This is genuinely helpful, thanks for writing it out. The social part surprised me too. This is exactly the kind of tradeoff teams argue about for weeks.

My version of this was messier, but the conclusion was similar. My only addition is to make the first step visible.
